When we look to our increasingly flat world, we’re looking to build life-long relationships with communities that share the same passion for reconciliation and desire for justice in the world that we believe God is calling us to.
Global Partner: Honduras
We’re currently in community with several global partners, but one relationship highlight the long-term learning and impact that we believe these partnerships can achieve. In Honduras, we’re partnering with the family of Carlos & Melissa Urquia. Carlos & Melissa and their boys were a part of Sanctuary in Minneapolis for several years before moving back to Carlos’ home country of Honduras to be a refuge for Christ in that community. We couldn’t help but join them in their journey.
We’re sending teams to Honduras each year to engage in global experiences that both give and receive. We believe we have something to offer this community in Honduras, but more importantly, we believe there is much to be learned through these experiences that can further develop our understanding of reconciliation and justice in this increasingly multi-cultural world.
Carlos and Melissa had been sharing the vision they had to move back to Honduras to be a presence of peace and justice and a refuge for the hurting in their community. We couldn’t help but say “Yes.“
Yes, to life-journey together.
Yes, to be a resource for them.
Yes, to learn from their experiences.
Global Partner Experiences are life-changing.
In addition to Honduras, Sanctuary is sending teams to South Africa and a soon to be announced location in Mexico.
