Kevin Farmer

Title: Associate Pastor of Equipping & Formation and Empowerment and Advancement
What does that mean? Pastor Kevin is the architect of spiritual formation opportunities that grow people on their life-long journey with God. He also helps people get connected to meaningful opportunities to serve in their area of giftedness.

Kevin has a tremendous desire to see people grow into the fullness of all God desires them to be.  Originally from Philadelphia, Kevin received his BA in Africana Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and his MA in Christian Education from Bethel Theological Seminary.  Kevin enjoys teaching and golf and virtually anything involving his 3 favorite people, his wife Lynn, son Noah and daughter Maya.

Q: What’s your favorite season, and why?
Summer, I live in Minnesota . . . need I say more?

Q: One of your proudest moments?
When I graduated from Grad School.  My undergrad years (academically) left a lot to be desired . . . I was determined to excel at the Master’s level.

Q: When did you first come to Sanctuary?
Been here since day 1 (even before!)

Q: Your biggest challenge?
Not letting logistics drive me bananas.

Q: What is your definition of a retreat?
A place or time of either mindless or productive escape . . . maybe I should be a chaplain on golf course?

Q: Your first job?
Cindefella . . . every chore in the house.

Q: Your greatest indulgence?
Golf

Q: Where did you grow up?
The Germantown and Olney sections of Philadelphia

Q: What are you most thankful for?
That God had a plan for my life that was greater than anything I could ever imagine

Q: What was your childhood ambition?
Compete in the Olympic Games and be a motivational speaker

Q: Who makes up your Family?
My wife, Lynn, kids are Noah and Maya. We live in South Minneapolis

Q: What’s a typical day on the job?
There are no typical days in this line of work . .  .every day is atypical!

Q: Your most memorable experience?
The moment I realized that I met the woman I’m suppose to marry
