Christopher Snoddy

Title: Director, Youth & Family Ministries
What does that mean? Chris builds teams that are in spiritually healthy relationships with the Youth at Sanctuary as they grow with God into adulthood.

Chris Snoddy is a family man who is serious about his wife and daughter and his workout regimen. He lives on the northside of Minneapolis and believes that mentoring and discipling youth are essential to God’s work of reconciliation in our city.

Q: What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Rum-n-Raisin (Hagen Daz)

Q: Who do you most admire?
I admire Malcolm X, because he was able to change his life circumstance, educate himself, and he served others. Also, his faith was instrumental in determine what his life should look like on a daily basis.

Q: One of your proudest moments?
The day my daughter was born.

Q: Your biggest challenge?
Getting youth to trust in the gifts G-D has given them and the courage to use them.

Elwood Jones, Elder Gary Shackleford, Mark-Peter Lundquist, and Ed Irwin

Q: What are you most thankful for?
A family that loves me.

Q: What was your childhood ambition?
To become an engineer and create or be in a movie

Q: What’s your favorite snack?
Sunflower seeds. Preferably Bar-B-Que

Q: What’s your favorite movie?
Willy Wonka (The Gene Wilder version)

Q: What impact has the Sanctuary Community had on your life?
It has taught me the importance of involving the entire community in my faith journey.

Q: Your most memorable experience?
There are two that really stand out. Graduating from college and jumping off a bridge (30-40ft.) at Kids Across America Kamp.

Q: What are you passionate about now, that you did not care about before?
I am passionate about living healthy.

Q: Your first job?
Teen Teamworks: cleaning parks. North Commons Park in North Minneapolis was our central park.

Q: Your greatest indulgence?
Dark Chocolate-I can eat more bars then Wonka can make

Q: Where did you grow up?
Northside of Minneapolis

Q: What do you look for in a friend?
Loyalty, openness, someone who is kind and gentle with words, and has the ability to laugh.
